Tea kettle

Tea kettle – kama (釜) is used for heating up water for tea. The iron (or copper) kettle has a lit (furo, 蓋) and I had to keep the lit on the kettle by my hand, protected by fukusa (silk cloth, 袱紗), while pouring water to the chawan (tea bowl, 茶碗) with macha. The kettle was placed in furo (a portable brazier, 風炉) with burning sumi (charcoal, 炭).
